Rainbow Valley is here to help in any way should you want assistance on “How To, DIY Events” We can talk you through the steps and provide you with templates of lots of different events and we are sure you will find something that sparks your interest.

As a small charity, with only 2 employees we depend heavily on our wonderful supporters who we like to call “Our Rainbow Valley Family”, to help us continue to provide our bespoke residential courses for those affected by cancer.

Below is a useful A- Z for Fundraising Ideas but we would love to hear your ideas too!!

Bring & Buy

We know Thrifting is so popular now as people become more aware of sustainability. It is often said “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” So here is a great way to clear our your old and bring in the new and raise funds to help Rainbow Valley!!

Challenge Yourself

Is there something you have always wanted to do? They say there is a marathon in everyone……However, it doesn’t need to be a 26mile run! You could take part in the KiltWalk, cycle, swim or take part in an obstacle challenge. Rainbow Valley would love to hear about your ambitions and offer any encouragement/advice.

Donate

There are many ways to donate to Rainbow Valley. The most obvious one is to hit our donate button and donate online, you can even set up a regular giving. However, there are many ways to donate and you could ask for a collecting can to put in your local shop or restaurant!

Every Coin Counts

Save up your coins to donate and encourage your family and friends to do the same. Ask your local school to fill their smartie packs or your granny to fill their Sterident tubes with 20p coins. The impact of doing something like this in mass will surprise you!

Follow, Follow, Follow

Follow us on social media, like and share our posts and help us reach more people! We are on FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER & LINKEDIN! It is incredible how this can lead to fundraising!

Outdoors

Being outdoors and with nature is always good for our health so why not set yourself a challenge to walk a so many miles each day? Rain, Hail or Snow – Your skin is waterproof and your cells will thank you for it!

Pack A Bag

Contact your local Supermarket and ask for dates to pack bags (Christmas time is most popular) and gather a group of friends willing to give up an hour on a rota to help. We will provide you with collecting buckets.

Quiz

Organise a Quiz Show at your local Pub, Club, School etc. This is easy all you need is a venue, a good quiz master and a few friends to bring a team.

Rainbow Themed Events

Organising Rainbow Themed Events are easy. Split people at work or school or clubs into teams and each team wears a different colour. There are 7 colours in a Rainbow so perfect for primary schools! Everyone brings £1 in to donate instead of wearing uniform or business atire!

Seven

There are 7 Colours in the Rainbow and our Residential course is called 7 Steps To Health. Continuing with this theme (we love a theme at Rainbow Valley), challenge yourself to do something over 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 months to pay for a 7 Steps To Health Course which costs in the region of £7K!

T-shirts

When you raise a minimum of £150 through sponsorship taking part in our events we will give you a tshirt. Or you could buy one and show your support for us!

Upbeat

Remaining Upbeat is so important when you are fundraising, this will encourage others to join in with what you are doing! Be excited about your challenge, event or event Rainbow Valley is running. People will follow and it will be easier to sell a table or ticket to the event.

Volunteer

We love our Volunteers! Send us a message or call us and let us know what you would like to do or what you have to offer.

Website

Thank you for visiting our website. Please share it on all social media platforms and help get us up the search engine!

Xmas

Ohhhh I can hear some people shout at the screen it should read Christmas!!!! Bare with us as we couldn’t think of another word beginning with X!!

There are many lovely things you can do for Christmas fundraising. Christmas jumper day at work, organise craft stalls at work, Guess the weight of the Christmas cake, donate instead of sending Christmas Cards and buy a bobble to go on Rainbow Valley’s Tree in memory of a loved one, or pop on and buy a ticket for our Christmas Concert. 🎄

YOU

Remember people want to support YOU first! Ask for help from Family & Friends when you are fundraising. The more you know about the fantastic work of Rainbow Valley, the more likely they will want to help. Unfortunately, everyone is affected by cancer. We can send you leaflets and posters to place in your Dr Surgery, Community Centres etc. Just ask.

Zero

Could you cut out something for a full month or year? Zero alcohol, zero sugar, zero gluten will make you feel so much better mentally and physically and is surely worth a sponsor challenge!

What Made You Smile Today?

“Where do I start? I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Ardoch House for the 7 Steps to Health Course. I mean this from the bottom of my heart – It was so many things – a great atmosphere, relaxing, positive, so helpful, comfortable, comforting, inspiring, happy, fun, with loads of laughter thrown in for good measure and it just lifted my spirits tremendously! The staff members without exception, made us all feel so very welcome and it was obvious they were sincere and very caring people. You have a lovely team and “What a tonic!!”
“I feel I was so honoured to have the opportunity to be enrolled in this fabulous course with my sister. Seeing her and others, joyful and contributing to everything they were asked to get involved in. So much laughs and smiles was contagious. Everyone was genuinely respectful and supportive to each other to which a strong friendship bond was developed amongst us all and with the wonderful caring staff. I felt truly I felt truly valued and lucky to have had this opportunity to be part of the Rainbow valley experience and hope it’s not the last xx”
Hi Angela - I’m just home & need to take a moment to express my gratitude for the last few days at 7 Steps to Health. I’m not usually short of words but I’m struggling to think of everything I want to say to you & the rest of The Rainbow Valley family, my heart is full of happiness & I genuinely haven’t felt this good about myself or anything in a while.I feel invigorated with a renewed sense of finding the positives in my life (of which there are many!) & remembering the joy of new experiences. You gave that to me & I can’t even begin to thank you properly. Add the privilege of meeting so many incredible people & knowledgeable presenters, it’s been a game changer. Oh & to be able to share with my daughter was special in so many ways ❤️❤️Thank you again to you & your incredible team. Mairi Harper xx 🌈 🌈 xx
Hi Angela, I want to thank you again for the course it was amazing, I am so grateful I got to experience this and bring mum along too! It helped us understand some of the emotions as well as each others! I cannot thank you all enough. After 3 heavy years I feel as though that gap of not knowing what to do or where support is and how to manage it has been filled! You are all amazing 🥰💜 Amanda McMillan
I just wanted to say thank you so much for welcoming me into the rainbow valley family. I can genuinely say I feel blessed and grateful for my experience over the last few days. The Nicky that walked in on Tuesday afternoon and the Nicky who walked out yesterday afternoon are completely different. I feel more hopeful about the future, I have been in a state of scarcity for 16 months and didn’t truly realise the impact it has had on me and my family. 7 steps made me realise what I was feeling and thinking is perfectly normal, but has given me tools to cope and navigate through life with a much better perspective on life. Life changing and inspiring.Johanna will be so proud of you and Kendall 💫🙏🏻 what a legacy she has left here and you both have made it recognised with rainbow valley.Thank you again for opening me up to the wonderful support and amazing community you have at rainbow Valley 🌈🌈🌈🌈 Nicky Sheilds
“I would highly recommend attending a Day Course offered by Rainbow Valley. I did this as a re-fresh, after completing the life changing 7 Steps To Health residential course. It was a brilliant way to start the year and get me back on track for the year ahead. Living with cancer or for family and friends, can be so stressful and anxiety levels can peak. Mine often do and panic sets in. The Rainbow Valley Team helped me move on and made me smile again!! Well ..full on laughing actually!! You may not think it possible, I didn’t, but trust me….after their courses, you will.I met like minded people and have been educated on how to improve my mental health and well being and diet. I don’t really have the words to express my gratitude to everyone concerned, I only know that the overall experience has been a total game changer for me. I am so grateful. Thank you Rainbow Valley!!”Lynn Fairley
